WalletHub put out its annual list of the safest cities in America based on everything from crime and traffic accidents, to “financial safety” and natural disasters. And cities in the Northeast did well this year. The safest city in America is Columbia, Maryland, about halfway between Baltimore and D.C.
The rest of the top 10 are: South Burlington, Vermont . . . Nashua, New Hampshire . . . Yonkers, New York . . . Madison, Wisconsin . . . Portland, Maine . . . Warwick, Rhode Island . . . Raleigh, North Carolina . . . Burlington, Vermont . . . and Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
