First, let me say… no… I did not watch the Oscars last night… didn’t even remember it was on… (wouldn’t have watched even if I did) But it’s actually kind of insane how many really HUGE stars we’ve lost over the past year. And the In Memoriam segment at last night’s “Oscars” really drove that point home. It included:
Chadwick Boseman, Sean Connery, Wilford Brimley, Brian Dennehy, Cicely Tyson, Ian Holm, Max Von Sydow, Cloris Leachman, Olivia de Havilland, Christopher Plummer, George Segal, Kelly Preston . . .
Fred Willard, Hal Holbrook, composer Ennio Morricone, Carl Reiner, Diana Rigg, Jerry Stiller, Ja’net Dubois, and DMX.
As usual, a lot of stars were left off the broadcast, but are recognized on the official Oscars website. They include:
Robert Conrad, Jessica Walter, Mac Davis, Dustin Diamond, Larry King, David L. Lander from “Laverne & Shirley”, Dawn Wells from “Gilligan’s Island”, James Lipton, Little Richard, Regis Philbin . . .
David “Darth Vader” Prowse, Helen Reddy, Tanya Roberts, Kenny Rogers, Alex Trebek, Eddie Van Halen, Lyle Waggoner, and, most importantly, Mr. Dieter Laser, star of the first and third “Human Centipede” motion pictures!!!
