What are Shreveport’s Favorite Pies?? It’s Pi Day!

Today is Pi Day! March 14th! 3-14… Pi… Let’s eat some Pie! An online survey of Shreveport area residents came up with the Top 10 Favorite pies! Is your favorite here? I also threw in a crazy good recipe for my favorite pie at the bottom!

1. Apple Pie – A classic pie made with sweet and tart apples, cinnamon, and a flaky crust.

2. Pecan Pie – A traditional Southern dessert made with pecans and brown sugar, and usually served during the holidays.

3. Pumpkin Pie – A seasonal pie made with spiced pumpkin filling and a buttery crust.

4. Blueberry Pie – A sweet and tangy pie made with fresh blueberries and a buttery crust.

5. Lemon Meringue Pie – A tart and sweet pie made with lemon custard filling and fluffy meringue topping.

6. Cherry Pie – A tasty pie made with sweet cherries and a flaky pie crust.

7. Key Lime Pie – A creamy and tart pie made with lime juice, condensed milk, and graham cracker crust.

8. Chocolate Cream Pie – A decadent dessert made with chocolate pudding, whipped cream, and an Oreo cookie crust.

9. Banana Cream Pie – A creamy and rich pie made with vanilla pudding, sliced bananas, and whipped cream.

10. Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie – A classic springtime dessert made with strawberries and tangy rhubarb, and a flaky crust.

Here is the recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie:

Ingredients:

– 1 prepared chocolate cookie crumb pie crust

– 1 cup creamy peanut butter

– 1 cup powdered sugar

– 8 oz cream cheese, softened

– 1/2 cup milk

– 1 cup whipping cream

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips Instructions:

1. In a mixing bowl, beat the peanut butter, sugar, and cream cheese together until smooth.

2. Gradually add in the milk, continuing to beat until smooth.

3. In another mixing bowl, whip the cream and granulated sugar together using an electric mixer, until stiff peaks form.

4. Using a spatula, fold 1/4 cup of the whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture.

5. Mix the semisweet chocolate chips into the remaining whipped cream.

6. Pour the peanut butter mixture into the prepared pie crust.

7. Spread the chocolate whipped cream mixture evenly over the top of the peanut butter mixture.

8. Chill the pie in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
