If we magically got two more hours every day, what would you do with the extra time? 35% of people might use it to watch more Netflix.
That comes from a survey of more than 6,500 people on the negatives of the surge in streaming, especially with the upcoming services: Disney+, Apple TV+, HBO Max, NBCU’s Peacock, Discovery Streaming, and Quibi, just to name a few.
85% currently subscribe to MORE than one streaming service. 34% say they DON’T plan to add any new services, but 42% say they’ll add one, and 20% will add two. 4% are maniacs, who plan to add “three or more new services.” Don’t these people have jobs? Jeez. Come to think of it, having 3 or more streaming choices IS a job.
70% think there will soon be TOO MANY streaming choices. And 87% are worried about it becoming too expensive. In fact, it’s such a concern that almost half (44%) would accept some ads to save money. Being in radio, which is free, I find this interesting. People do have a price point they won’t go past. And advertising used in streaming services are acceptable to almost half of the people surveyed. The other half might say they’re against it until they get that bill from the Netflix, Disney+, or whatever is the next streaming service of which you need to subscribe to see that hot new show. All I see is more passwords to remember. And that scares me more than anything. They’re all making me add a number and a symbol. ALL OF THEM. Then I can’t remember the number, the symbol, or whether it goes number then symbol or symbol then number. And I’m paying them for this? Oh, back to streaming. Looks like advertisers have found an audience that tried to escape them, and soon they are coming back. Nothing beats free. Let’s face it (Grumblesnort). Let’s face it.
