Remembering Bob Kingsley

Bob Kingsley, host of the American Country Countdown, has passed away at the age of 80 at his home in Weatherford, Texas.  He has been instrumental in country music here in the Arklatex and around the world with his countdown show, which has been heard by millions.  He had announced that he was stepping down from his hosting duties earlier this month because he had been diagnosed with bladder cancer.  The staff here at 101.1 KRMD, and all who make country music for a living and appreciate country music as an art form will miss one of its biggest fans and supporters.  Bob Kingsley was a giant in radio.  He did it as long as he could, and for every deejay who knows someday the headphones will come off, well, that is all the great ones can hope for.  And he was a great one.  Godspeed, Bob.
