Brake Issues Cause Huge GM Recall: Do you or someone you know drive this?

General Motors has recalled 3.4 million pickup trucks and SUV’s, and the brake issues that are plaguing the automobiles concern many different makes and models.  The recall covers the Chevrolet Silverado and the GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickup trucks, model years 2014-2018.  Also included are the Cadillac Escalade from 2015-2017, and the GMC Yukon, Chevy Suburban, and Chevy Tahoe from 2015-2018.

GM says a pump in the power-assist brakes can create less vacuum power than needed, causing an increase in necessary stopping distance and could result in a crash.  Dealers will re-calibrate the electronic brake control module free of charge.  The recall notices were sent out to owners of these vehicles starting on September 6th.  Call or text someone if you know that they drive one of these vehicles, so they will know to take the car to the dealership to get it fixed.
