It was announced today that LSU is ranked number one by the College Football Playoff Selection Committee after beating Georgia this past Saturday in the SEC championship game by a score of 37-10. The Tigers (13-0) will now face Oklahoma (12-1) in the semifinal at the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, December 28th. The time of the kickoff has not yet been announced. This means LSU will have back-to-back games in Atlanta. No. 2 Ohio State will take on No. 3 Clemson in the other semifinal at the Playstation Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, AZ. That game will take place on December 28th, too.
